    One of the leading golfing establishments in Cambodia has launched a new initiative that seeks to boost female participation in the sport. The Vattanac Ladies Golf Development Programme intends to create a safe haven for ladies to practise, learn and develop their golf games with a qualified instructor in a stress-free environment, according to the Vattanac Golf Resort. Last year, the World Golf Awards named Vattanac Golf Resort as the best golf course in Cambodia.

  • South China Morning Post: Can golf courses be good for ecology when they use so much water and pesticide to maintain an artificial environment? Hong Kong Golf Club vies for eco-friendly prize

    Amid all the industry backslapping at the World Golf Awards in October, with its prizes for best golf shoe brand and best golf TV channel, there will be an award for world’s best eco-friendly golf facility in 2021. The Hong Kong Golf Club has been nominated and hopes to win at a gala ceremony to be held at the Park Hyatt Dubai hotel. In 2020, the club achieved certification from the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Programme for Golf (something achieved by the Jockey Club’s Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course back in 2005) – which “helps golf courses protect our environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf” – and joins others in a search for public recognition of golf’s ecological credentials.

  • Golf Shake: First International Olympic Academy Golf Course Launched at Costa Navarino

    Showcasing a world first, revealed by the International Olympic Academy (IOA), the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) and Costa Navarino in Greece, an International Olympic Academy Golf Course has been launched at Costa Navarino’s Navarino Hills, which is the nearest golf development to Ancient Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games. Named as the ‘World’s Best New Golf Development’ at the 2020 World Golf Awards, Navarino Hills is one of Europe’s most eagerly awaited golf developments. Situated over 125 hectares overlooking the historic Bay of Navarino and the Ionian Sea, the International Olympic Academy Golf Course will measure 6,366m in length and will open exclusively for the Messinia Pro-Am which will take place from the 24th to the 27th of November.
