    Golfing fraternity in Kenya says the European Tour (ET), has firmly positioned Kenya as a global golfing destination with global recognition. This is after two ET events, The Magical Kenya Open and the Kenya Savannah Classic were successfully held in the destination keeping the world glued on Kenya for two weeks. Kenya has made great strides in the awareness of the quality golfing experiences available in the destination. Last year, the World Golf Awards named Kenya as Africa’s leading Golf destination, beating countries like Morocco, Egypt, and South Africa which are considered as the cream of Africa in golf.

  • VN Express: Vietnam in contention for Asia's 2021 best golfing destination

    Vietnam has been nominated for Asia's best golf destination in the annual 2021 World Golf Awards, with voting expected to last until September 1. The country will compete against China, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand for the title. World Golf Awards, the most prestigious awards program in the golf tourism industry, has occurred annually since 2014.

    In a bid to drive sports tourism, Kenya is leveraging on hosting golf tournaments in 2021 to promote the destination to local and international audiences. Kenya was recognized as Africa's Best Golfing Destination during the 7th Annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony held in Dubai last year, beating South Africa, Egypt and Morocco. The World Golf Awards was founded in 2014 and recognizes and rewards excellence in golf tourism, Golf courses and golf destinations.
