Boutique Hotelier: The Belfry promotes from within for resort general manager role
The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield has announced the promotion of Chris Eigelaar to the role of resort general manager. The Belfry Hotel & Resort was recently announced as the venue for the much-anticipated Betfred British Masters 2021, and recently retained its position as the World’s Best Golf Hotel, England’s Best Golf Hotel and England’s Best Golf Course at the World Golf Awards.

Golfers choosing the increasingly popular golf destination of Madeira for a five-star golfing break in 2021 can enhance their experience by downloading the islands’ new ‘Madeira Safe to Discover’ app. Madeira and her islands – hailed as the ‘world’s best emerging golf destination’ at the World Golf Awards 2019 – features three golf courses including two on the mainland, Santo da Serra and Palheiro Golf, as well as Porto Santo Golf, which is located on the nearby island of Porto Santo.

Manila Times: Manila Southwoods living up to its lofty reputation

VNExpress: Domestic professional golf to tee off in 2021
Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) said local professional golf tournaments would make a strong comeback after the haunting Covid-19 outbreak. The association revealed it would spend VND350 billion (over $15 million) on a total 32 tournaments for the 2021-2024 seasons. Vietnam received the World's Best Golf Destination 2019 award at World Golf Awards in the UAE last October and won the Asia Best Golf Destination prize for the third consecutive year.

Kenya has been named Africa’s leading golfing destination. The announcement was made during the 7th Annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Kenya scooped the Africa’s Best Golf Destination 2020 category ahead of South Africa, Egypt and Morocco. At the same time, Karen Country Club was also celebrated as Kenya’s best golf course while the Great Rift Valley Country Lodge and Golf Resort won the award of Kenya’s best golf resort. The World Golf Awards which was founded in 2014 recognizes and rewards excellence in golf tourism, courses and golf destinations.

Brendan O’Connor announced as new General Manager of Adare Manor, which also received three awards at the 2020 World Golf Awards which encompasses thousands of votes from golfers in 129 countries. For the second year running it won ‘Ireland’s Best Hotel’ and ‘Ireland’s Best Golf Course’ for its championship parkland golf course while The Carriage House at Adare Manor won ‘World’s Best Golf Clubhouse’ for the first time.
