Yahoo!: Sentosa Golf Club joins UN Sports for Climate Action initiative
Sentosa Golf Club became the first golf club to join the United Nation’s Sports for Climate Action Initiative on Friday (31 July). The initiative aims to support and guide sports organisations and their communities on a path to achieving the global climate goals set out by world leaders in the Paris Agreement. The golf club, which was named World’s Best Golf Club by World Golf Awards last year, will commit to a set of five agreed principles and incorporating them into its club strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as communicating them to their wider sporting community within Singapore and other golf clubs around the world.

The Sentosa Golf Club (SGC) has become the world's first golf club to join the United Nations' Sports for Climate Action Initiative, after signing the initiative following its collaboration with international golf sustainability non-profit organisation GEO Foundation on Friday (July 31). Sentosa Golf Club became the first golf club to join the United Nation’s Sports for Climate Action Initiative on Friday (31 July). The golf club, which was named World’s Best Golf Club by World Golf Awards last year, will commit to a set of five agreed principles and incorporating them into its club strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as communicating them to their wider sporting community within Singapore and other golf clubs around the world.

Khmer Times: 1st MOI-China Embassy Friendship Tournament held
Top officials from the Ministry of Interior recently engaged their counterparts from the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia in a friendly golf tournament. The 1st Annual Ministry of Interior vs China Embassy Friendship Tournament was held over the weekend at the Vattanac Golf Resort in Phnom Penh. Designed by British golfing legend Nick Faldo and managed by Troon, the world’s largest gold club management firm, the Vattanac Golf Resort is among the best golf courses in Cambodia. The resort is also among the nominees in this year’s World Golf Awards.

Travel Daily News: Tourists touch down in Madeira as international flights resume
A number of major airlines from across Europe have restarted their flight schedules to the award-winning island of Madeira after it announced that it is welcoming international travel. The islands – which were last year hailed as the ‘world’s best emerging golf destination’ at the World Golf Awards, and as Europe’s ‘leading island destination’ for the fourth successive year, as well as the world’s ‘leading island destination’ for a staggering fifth year running in the 2019 World Travel Awards – reopened to international visitors on July 1.
