For all the golf lovers out there. If you want to take a trip to Africa, but do not want to miss out on your daily golfing schedule, do not worry as Kenya has you covered. Kenya has just been declared as a leading golf destination in Africa at the 7th Annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony. The event was first founded in 2014, and this year it was held in Dubai.

Kenya beat other African countries such as Morocco, South Africa, and Egypt to win the Best Golf Destination 2020 category award. Within Kenya, Karen Country Club was declared as the best golf course. On the other hand, the Great Rift Valley Country Lodge and Golf Resort picked up the award for being the country’s best golf resort. While Karen Country Club is situated in Nairobi, the Great Rift Valley Country Lodge and Golf Resort is in Naivasha.

The award for Africa’s Best Golf Course in Africa went to Pinnacle Point Golf Course in South Africa.

Dr Betty Radier, CEO, Kenya Tourism Board said in a statement that it is encouraging that Kenya has developed golfing, and the world is taking note. She further said that it will be the aim of the nation to become the best golfing destination in the world. Having conquered the rest of Africa in this regard certainly gave a major boost to the country, and its tourism board.

The Annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony recognised excellence in golfing around the world. Other winners at this year’s event include Australia that bagged home the prestigious award of World’s Best Golf Destination. Georgia’s Augusta National Golf Club won the award for being the World’s Best Golf Course.
