Address Montgomerie
All you need to know about footgolf in Dubai

A bold and original course set in the beautifully understated Address Montgomerie boutique hotel resort, the Montgomerie Golf Club was a passion project by eponymous designer Colin Montgomerie, who was aided by Desmond Muirhead, known for his somewhat eccentric design. The course features plenty of water, with 49 of its 265 acres taken up by 14 man-made lakes, along with 93 acres of landscaped gardens and 81 large bunkers. The property and golf course is managed by Troon Golf, which operates dozens of golf properties across 20 countries.

The courses
This fantastic course has rolling links-style fairways, generous landing areas and tough greens. Every hole has a feel of its own, with two in particular worthy of note — “The Snake Hole” is the par-5 fourth named for its saddleback fairway and two bunkers shaped like the eyes of a slithering reptile, while the par-3 13th forms the shape of the UAE itself and begins with a 360-degree tee around an island fairway and green. But it is the par-5 18th that will give you nightmares — at 656 yards and with water protecting the front of the green that taunt you as you try to hit the green in two. The course received four Annual World Golf Awards nominations in the Best Golf Course, Dubai’s Best Golf Course, United Arab Emirates Best Golf Hotel and Dubai’s Best Golf Hotel categories in 2017.

Facilities and activities
A world-class teaching facility has indoor and outdoor practice courses, with a state-of-the-art indoor swing studio, which allows your group to enjoy a game of golf indoors with the E6 simulator,  choosing from 84 different golf courses – with food and beverage options, of course.
The studio features Trackman, V1 Analysis, SAM Balance Lab and K-Vest swing analysis technology, plus separate putting studio, to analyse every part of your game. The club also has a floodlit nine-hole par-three academy course, short game area, practice putting greens and practice fairway. It also offers footgolf and other fun activities. The club also has a spa with six treatment rooms and staff trained at The Banyan Tree Spa Academy in Thailand.

The 19th and beyond
The four restaurants at the club are all of a high standard. Nineteen is the signature restaurant with golf course views and live music. Monty’s, named after Colin himself, is a picturesque spot to relax with snacks and drinks while watching players complete their round on the 18th. Links family restaurant overlooks the driving range and par 3, and Monty Cristos lounge serves fine Cuban-style rolls, Scottish beverages, appetisers and tapas.

Rack rates: AED940 (Sun-Thu) AED995 (Fri-Sat), Summer rates to be confirmed, Including golf cart with GPS yardage system, bottle of water, access to practice facilities.
