  • All Africa: Kenya Banks on Hosting International Golf Tourneys to Promote Sports Tourism

    In a bid to drive sports tourism, Kenya is leveraging on hosting golf tournaments in 2021 to promote the destination to local and international audiences. Kenya was recognized as Africa's Best Golfing Destination during the 7th Annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony held in Dubai last year, beating South Africa, Egypt and Morocco. The World Golf Awards was founded in 2014 and recognizes and rewards excellence in golf tourism, Golf courses and golf destinations.

  • VNExpress: Domestic professional golf to tee off in 2021

    Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) said local professional golf tournaments would make a strong comeback after the haunting Covid-19 outbreak. The association revealed it would spend VND350 billion (over $15 million) on a total 32 tournaments for the 2021-2024 seasons. Vietnam received the World's Best Golf Destination 2019 award at World Golf Awards in the UAE last October and won the Asia Best Golf Destination prize for the third consecutive year.

    Kenya has been named Africa’s leading golfing destination. The announcement was made during the 7th Annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Kenya scooped the Africa’s Best Golf Destination 2020 category ahead of South Africa, Egypt and Morocco. At the same time, Karen Country Club was also celebrated as Kenya’s best golf course while the Great Rift Valley Country Lodge and Golf Resort won the award of Kenya’s best golf resort. The World Golf Awards which was founded in 2014 recognizes and rewards excellence in golf tourism, courses and golf destinations.
